I have Windsor Jr heads and a Street Heat intake I'm getting ready to put on. My problem is I want to install 1.7RR's on the 7/16th stud mounts. I found out that the tall valve covers don't fit unless you have a phelonic spacer and then depending on what size you have you run into hood clearence problems. I've heard of taking the baffles out of the stockers as well. What are my best options for bolting 1.7RR's to my Windsor's? I know the best thing to do is change the cam and use 1.6RR's but I'm still SD and big lift cam's are a on SD cars.

They only make a 3/8" and 1". I heard you need 1/2 of clearence, so that puts the 3/8 to low and the 1" to high causing hood issues. I think I going to research altering the stock valve covers.

In my case I just used some regular E6 cast covers and pulled the stock baffle out from under the filler neck and replaced it with a smaller, flatter piece of....soup can. Clears my Cobra 1.7s and doesnt blow oil into the intake.
