While changing my oil earlier I started thinking about something I noticed a long time ago. I think my engine is stock but my valve covers are black. I noticed a lot of other people have stock silver covers. I'm pretty sure they are stock, they have ford stickers on them with numbers. Is there a difference because mine are black? My car is an 89 GT. If needed I can snap a pic.

Here are pics. They look like stock. Didn't know my heads were so rusty.

Theyre not the stock ones...I would say they were from a 302 truck or exploder or something.

BTW if I were you I would get that Fram off there, just my opinion though, me and many others had some bad experiences from them and they use cardboard as the end spacer inside :nono:

I don't know the history of the motor. When I bought the car I got it from a guy who bought it from a tow yard. All I know is that the car was a theft recovery. Car sounds good. Some people thing I have a cam but I don't think so.
