valve float?

is there any way to know without using a dyno?

Usually when the engine starts to get a miss at high rpm. A friend of mine just spent a lot of time diagnosing what turned out to be valve float. I guess the best way to find it is when nothing else affects the miss.

"Valve float" can also be confused with "point bounce" and in the roller motors, lifter bounce.
