valve guide question

Can someone please advise what material are these valve guides made from? Sealed power VG-5005 for sbf... e.g. summit sells them

Summit says they are made of manganese bronze, but they dont have the bronze color. Look rather as cast iron. Fed mogul tech support guy does not know

Isn't manganese bronze an alloy?
Are you working on a stock cast iron head rebuild?

cast iron head yes, I want to have there installed bronze guides, as existing guides are too much worn. Guides are to be redrilled to the new guides' outer diameter and pressed in.


VG5005 are silverish and bronze should be yelow/goldish, or not?

That picture on their site could just be a generic stock photo.

in the meanwhile I figured out it is cast iron; well bronze is not magnetic..
