Does the noise vary with engine load? That is, do you hear it louder when accelerating? Hard or soft acceleration? When coasting or when the engine is "floating" (that is, not really driving nor being driven)? Or when the engine is "braking" like when decelerating or on the overrun?
Although noises are about the most difficult thing to diagnose over the 'Net, especially without a vid, I doubt you're hearing valve noise up at that RPM. More likely to me is either a detonation-like rattle or you're hearing a reciprocating assembly noise (e.g. rod bearing.)
