hey all, i was changing the seals on my gt40p's and noticed my spring shims were kind of sharp and worn. i used the trick flow valve spring upgrade kit from summit. i figure i better change these out real soon before bad stuff goes down. can anyone reccomend a tough shim, and also what size i.d. and o.d. shim will i need ? thanks fellas............

are you talking about the thick spacer lookin thing on top of my exhaust valve springs?? i have GT40 heads and wonder the same thing..sorry i dont have anything helpful to add, but how much were the springs? i need to buy a set

AFIK stock heads didn't come with spring shims... Mustang78, what you are describing are the exhaust valve rotators. Pretty simple to replace... you can pull them off and check how well they rotate and any parts store would be able to get them for you. Shims sit below the valve spring against the head to help you get the correct installed height so your spring tension is correct.
Anyway, I believe the correct sizing is 1.031" ID and 1.500" OD... that's what I used.
