Valvetrain ticking???

Hey whats up, i own a 2001 GT Auto with 20,000 miles and just recently i here a ticking when im at low speeds. When i get on the gas slightly it ticks slow and as the car moves faster the ticking goes fast and then goes away. What could this be?

Its most probably your fuel injectors. They are very noisy on the mustangs. If not it could a defect in your head that Ford has an esb out on. Take a piece of hose (something like a cut garden hose or any flexible hose about that size) about 3 feet long. Take one end to your ear and with the car running put the other end on a fuel injector. see if that is the noise you are talking about. Its a simple way to diagnose many strange noises in the engine compartment. If its not the injectors, ford has had problems with some heads but i am unsure of the years that are affected.
