I have an opportunity to buy a venom 400 module for very cheap, what is the general consensus on these, and are they worth a damn?

i don't have experience with chips, but i have used a diablo predator tuner on a stock computer. i am definately impressed with it--can't imagine the fun the guys with the TwEECer are having!

i'd suspect that most guys on here would recommend that instead of a chip for that price, imho.

I've only heard BAD things about them, but you could always give it a try if it's cheap. I really don't know much about what it does.

I personally have not had any experience with Venom, but a guy local had their nitrous system on his 95 cobra and it splices into the TPS, well one day while he was detailing his car with the switch on the Venom puter got a freak signal and emptied 10#'s on nitrous into his motor. He had the radio on and did not hear the nitrous flowing (can you see where this is going?) after he finished detailing he cranked the car and BOOM!!!!! 4 rods out the side of the block.

I believe the venom just kicks up the timing and adjusts your fuel, etc. based on a stock setup. If you have much more than an exhaust and CAI, you may want something else.
