Okay so my car has been parked since the beginning of October now, outside unfortunately because somebody stold my tires and rims before I got a chance to put it in the garage. I live in Calgary, Alberta and we have pretty cold winters just so you know. I thought if I started my car up every couple/few weeks then it shouldn't really be that much of a problem until I get my new tires and rims and can put it in the garage. So anyway, here's my story.

I was starting it up every couple of weeks and everything was fine and dandy, started up first try every time and the heat blew nice and warm as it always does. Then about a week ago I went to start it up after not starting it for between 3 weeks to almost a month, and no air blows out of any of the vents/holes in the dash when I turn either the air conditioning OR the heater on. Nothing, nada, zilch. No sounds as if something is being turned on, not even a little bit of air coming out. So anybody have any idea what the problem is? In an 86' escort I used to have I think the same thing happened to me and I replaced the blower motor which is behind the glove compartment in those cars. My mustang is a 1990, do they have the same thing? Also, I thougth in my escort hot air was coming out of the vents while the blower motor was broken, it was just coming out in such little amounts so slowly and that's how I knew the problem, so maybe it's something different on the stang?

I'm trying to save up money for performance mods, so this really pisses me off. Especially since I havn't even been driving the thing for the past 3 months! It's a good thing 5.0's bring a big smile to my face, because sometimes they can be really frustrating, lol.

mine does the same type of thing. On mine it is an issue with the ignition switch. If I jiggle it just a little everything works. Check to see if your turn signals are working when the car is running. That is how I figured out it wasn't the blower motor.

Hope this helps

Okay I don't know if it was what you just said, but I went to go try it and turned my signal lights on... they worked..... then waited a second and prayed to the mustang gods before trying to turn the vents on..... and BOOYAH! They worked. So either it was what you said, or something else funny like that. Such a relief, now I can stop worrying about it. Thanks RYC.

P.S. It was also hella scary because right after I typed my car starts first time every try I forgot to knock on wood. So I go outside and try and start it and of course it sounds like it's been in a bad bar fight, took me 4 tries to start it... had to floor the gas pedal to start it... sheesh, can't wait to have it in the garage.
