When a peace officer will fill out the Verification Of Vehicle form for my 1968 Ford Mustang in California in order to take it from Non Operational status to Operational what status is applicable for the following:

US Federal Certification Label Status:

__ Agrees with VIN
__ Disagrees with VIN
__ Illegible/Damaged
__ Missing
__ None - NA
__ See REMARKS

I ask because I am wondering if cars this old even had such a label. Mine is missing the hood, and has been painted 2 / 3 times, so I wonder where it was if it had it, or do I put down None - NA.

I recall seeing a sticker on my 69 that said something like "this vehicle conforms to all regulation at time of production" or something like that.. Don't know if thats the sticker you are looking for but if I remember correctly it was by the dataplate on the door jam, or even possibly on the underside of the trunk lid. I don't remember exactly, and I am out of the country and cant look for it.

I know that when I had it painted the shop had masked it off so mine was still there.
