I have a manual and I know I gotta change the transmission but still I'm interested in an explanation for what's happening to my transmission. Here's the problem: after I get in 5th gear, if I try to shift out it doesn't go in any other gear but the thing is, after I press the clutch and move the stick in a neutral position (not in any other gear), if I press the accelerator the car actually accelerates, which means that I'm still in 5th wtf. The only solution is to come to a complete stop, get in reverse and this seems to "reset" the system cause after that I can shift in 1st and drive normally. For me it's a mystery, if anyone can figure out the problem it would be great.
