Vibration problems

hmm, i'd get a second opinion. Take it to another shop and see what they say. Have you checked pressure in all tires?

what size tires and rims? you dont have huge 20's on there do ya? j/k

You might want to get your rotors 'trued', I had that problem with my 94 v6 mustang, and after I trued the rotors the shimming went away.

I am having a similar vibration problem with my 02 GT and Eagle Alloy 17" Rims. I have replaced a tire, had the wheels/tires balanced by two different dealers and 5 tries to no avail. Friday I had the Ford dealer pull wheels from another Mustang and install on mine. The vibration was resolved. I think the problem is that the Eagle Alloy Wheels need to be hub centric when installed requiring that hubcentric rings be purchased and put on the hub so the wheel will tighten centered on the hub and not centered on the lugs. This will keep the wheels rolling circular and avoid an out of round type bumping/vibration. I have sent an e-mail to Eagle Wheels asking for their suggestions and if the hubcentric rings will solve the problem. Hope to hear back tomorrow or early week. Will let you know.

I have heard that about eagle wheels also but it is possible that one is just bent which would not be evident by balancing.

yea hubcentric rings seem to solve alot of vibration probs on wheels, definately try that next time before tearing your hair out.

I tried all week to no avail to get Eagles Wheels to respond to me through their web site about the vibration problems that I have had with my Eagle Alloy Series 077 wheels. I asked for suggestions on what to try next and asked about their thoughts regarding the use of hubcentric rings and if they knew of a source. I got no reply even after two e-mails. I decided to move ahead without them. I decided to try a third tire dealer and the sixth time trying to get my vibration out and met finally with success! Road Mart here in Alabama has a Hunter wheel balancer that will test the road force applied to the tire during operation and calculates that into the overall balance equation. They determined though that one of my tires (LR) has a Road Force factor of 28 which exceeds the normal threshold. They turned the tire on the rim, but could not get it any lower. They are recommending tire replacement so I am headed to a Goodyear dealer tomorrow to try to get it replaced under warranty. Anyway, my car drives 90 percent better already so I recommend finding someone with the Hunter wheel balancer that can also test for road force. That should help solve the problem and or determine if you have a bad tire when put under pressure. I don't believe that the hubcentric rings are necessarily the cure all as I thought before. I don't think they would hurt of course, but have been unable to locate a source for them that carries ones to specifically work with the Eagle Alloy Series 077, 17" rim. Hope this helps.
