Hey guys I am new to the forms here, but I have some questions for you.

I am looking into getting a vortech s/c, I can save up the rest of the $$$ in just a few short months, but I am wondering if it might not be a good idea.

The car is a 2004 Drop Top GT, the car has about 18k and the following mods on it...........So far I have a DenseCharger CAI, a BBK 70mm T/B, a TrickFlow Plenum, 1 inch T/B spacer, 1/2 inch plenum spacer, a Mac Pro-chamber (with cats) and Mac Cat back. So far (performance wise) the rest is stock. I was told that the stock internals on GT's are weak and that if I put on a blower, I will blow the motor. I emailed the guys at vortech and they seem to think that I should not have a problem with this combo (except the spacers would have to go). But has anyone on here had a problem with their s/c???? I just don't want to blow up my daily driver, with the cost of ins and payments I wouldn't have the $$$ to re-build it. Also I don’t want to void the warranty. And if I did blow it up, would it be hard to take it all off and take it to the dealer and say "I don't know what happened" ??? Thanks guys.

It will void the warranty.

Do not let some stupid warranty stop you from enjoying your car.

If you have it installed and tuned properly and respect your engine you should be fine in my opinion.

typically, you shouldn't get a blower unless you can afford the consequences.

the stock pistons and rods can hold 400rwhp thru a 5spd. 380rwhp thru an auto. a good tune is a must tho. i had a freak accident with my stock shortblock with much less hp. so sheet happens.

your chances of getting Ford to fix an engine blown from a s/c is slim to none. not to mention it's fraud.

if you want the power now, get a Mongoose kit from Modular Powerhouse. it's the safest kit out there. but when modding cars, nothing is 100% fool proof.

You'll be fine. The vortech gives you a lousy ~380rwhp @10psi which is ok for a stock block.
There are better blowers out there who can give you more HP for boost, but if you prefer a centri go ahead...

10psi with a Vortech can give someone alot more than a "lousy" 380rwhp. i'm making 380rwhp through an automatic with a 11:1 a/f non-intercooled at 10psi.
