My girlfriends dad just bought a wrecked srt8, straightened it out, cut off exhaust resonators, stripped pretty good ie ALL of trunk back seat speakers, carpet, insulation... Weight last night w/ 1/4 tank is 4007lbs at local truck stop.

Last weekend bone stock with radials 13.63, 2.3 60ft at 106mph
This week, about 300lbs lighter, Diablo canned 93 tune, and 20" Nitto drag radials.... Ill let ya'll know

I've added 4.56 gears, elec. water pump, line-lock, and battery in trunk just this week.

Ill post video next week

Take out sway bar, end links, jack, spare, ????

What else can I take out??

I think he wants to ensure he can still beat a lightened SRT8. I think with the mods you have you should be fine. Aside from weight one of the other issues around the SRT8 is it's gearing (any of those 300 series cars). With good gearing those cars will do much much better than they do now but if you have some light mods and gearing you generally shouldn't have much issue.

didnt need them

Didnt get elec. pump on or battery in the trunk, had a little issue with gears but...

didnt need them ( elec. pump and battery reloc.) :D

I stayed 1/2 to a full length ahead all night, videos this evening.Ran about 8 times.

The SRT8 will be having surgery soon... the 6.1, electronics, nav, suspension is all going into a body #'s matching (440) '68 Charger with Arrington 90mm tb using torqueflite trans and rear out of the '68.

Yeah not surprised. I toasted an SRT8 Charger at the track last year and it was before my UDP & gears and I wasn't lightened at all, ran with the spare and everything.

I think the guy was a bit surprised but seriously, it's a big ass heavy family sedan with complete highway gearing. In order for Chrysler to be able to sell those cars and meet their fleet fuel consumption requirements is to ship the cars geared like that.

It doesn't look like the challenger has lost much weight or been geared any better either.

With 4.56's and DR's I don't see how that Morparts can beet you without a little FI help. I.E. Giggle Gas or something of the like.

Nitrous is not forced induction. Regardless though, that Hemi needs neither. With headers and a cam that car could make 450 RWHP, and the weight difference would walk right out the door.

No, it isn't. It is a power adder, but not forced induction. Forced induction is something that increases the pressure in the manifold beyond atmosphere, by forcing pressurized air into the engine, hense the name. Nitrous does add oxygen to the combustion chamber which makes the fuel burn hotter, So I guess you could say it forces oxygen in, but not quite, and oxygen is not air. The oxygen is not forced in, it is sprayed into the incomming air just like the fuel, and the engine "sucks" it in (well, technically it is pushed in by pressure differential, but we won't get into that) on it's own. Typically, forced induction refers to turbochargers and superchargers that pressureize the air in the intake manifold.

On Speed's "Pass Time" there was a mildly modded 300C, but not the SRT8 and it ran 13.3s@108 on possibly what looked like 20" radials. They sure do have the ass to build momentum going down the track, but are a tank off the line. With your mods and traction, I don't see why you couldn't beat it down the track every time.

I did win every time, but by only a tenth or two...

The track is an old airstrip, and prep isnt the best. But, it is fun, and can get over 10 runs in from 8 to 12. A great track for 'street' ish conditions, not for looking for your best et.

according to THIS track I have a 1.88 60 ft, 13.05 at 111-113mph... go figure.

Still, fun to run
