I hate to get involved in this shouting match, but this is a decent point. Technology always moves on. Newer tech gets created, things get faster and better. The ricer had the deck stacked against you - the cars weren't a fair comparison. Next time someone does that, ask him "Do you own a 370Z? No? then STFU! What kind of crap do you drive, and can it beat a Mustang?" Watch him crawl away with his tail between his legs.
There's always someone stronger or faster. But the Mustang has a reputation everyone wants to beat.
You're forgetting what it was like being a teen/tween, still living under mom and dads roof. I would have humped in the back of a Volkswagen if it meant the choice between getting some semi-uncomfortable action, and none at all.
