ok today i had someone sell me a carbin fiber svo hood it looks real nice and is primered down. but the only problem i have with it is the way it bolts on it doesnt connect the way the oem hood does it has 2 locks on the front and 2 on the back. and you have to make little holes to make the hood fit. is there anyway i can get the hardware to make it work like oem?? also i noticed there is no insides to this hood its just the outside like the shell. the oem hood has an inside layer that this doesnt have. i only paid $100 so it seems like a great deal what do you guys think.

you can not get that hood to bolt up "oem style" its a pin on hood. buy 4 hood pins and go that route. i have the same hood except mine was the oem style bolt in. but im sorry to say i dont think there is any way to bolt that in oem style. you will probably have to do the pins. unless you want to take it to a body shop but you will probably pay out the ass for them to bolt it up oem. good luck, let me know how it goes

well i guess ill do the 4 pins then. what about the deal was it a good deal?? also its primered and is chipping a little what do i need to do to it before geting it painted???

FYI, that looks like a fiberglass hood to me, not a carbon fiber.

these hoods to get a good finish need to sanded and primered over and over again to get the best finish. just make sure you have thick primer laid down on a very smooth sanded surface. throw a thick coat of paint and clear on it as well. $100 for that hood isnt a bad deal. the prep and paint is the hard part though

o i was going to take to a paint shop for painting i dont have a place to paint. i just wanted to know what i should to to prepare it for painting to make the painting cheaper on my half. any tips

wet sand it a few times spray it off with a hose. just keep doing that until you can get it as smooth as possible and close to the finish that you want

i dont know much about painting whats wet sanding? is that weting sand paper then sanding it down??

That's totally a fiberglass hood, not carbon fiber. $100 is pretty fair. Fiberglass hoods are not very good at holding up to the forces that wind exerts on them at speed so even if it could be bolted up like OEM you'd still have to use pins on the front to provide an even holding force across the surface of the hood, not just in the middle (like OEM). Looks pretty slick tho
