I haven't been able to find any information using the search feature of Stangnet so since I have now removed my alternator I'm thinking that I should also replace the water pump and fan belt. Does any one have any tips or know how to do this??

Thank you for your help.

Do yourself a giant favor and get a haynes repair manual. It has step by step directions for this job.

Careful with those water pump studs!!!!
They can be quite a headache if they break

Yep. Also dont reef on any bolts that dont seem to want to come out (corrosion and galvanization at work).

Keep track of each bolt as you remove it (if overwhelmed, a good idea is to have your new pump sitting out. As you remove a bolt, stick it in the corresponding boss in the new pump. Once the old pump is out, swap the bolts to the old pump and then you can reinstall the new pump w/o having to wonder which bolts go where. Doing this takes less time than it took me to type this. ).

Otherwise, the manual should help. A new bypass hose (and upper and lower if needed) is/are a good idea. Since the system is open, a new stat can be done too.

Good luck.

Oh yeah, LRS, a dealer or maybe ARP might sell new bolts and studs. We know there is a market for them.

Good luck.
