In a word, yes. I've used it. It helps the transfer of heat from metal to water. Don't think your gonna run that 460ci motor with the stock radiator and water wetter though .

Yes it seemed to help keep my 77 F150 cooler and allow it to idle longer, when it had no radiator shroud.

Good stuff.

I've used it, couldn't really tell any difference and i have an autometer full sweep gauge. It's only an $8 bottle so giving it a try is not the end of the world.

Just don't expect it to cure any cooling issues.

Agreed with 2000 - it's something to use as an extra barrier of protection and efficiency, but not to fix any issue. In other words, I wouldnt use it unless the system run great on its own already (or unless you run nothing but water, etc).

I wouldn't use it if your also running coolant. On www.bobistheoilguy.com a lot of people have had problems with a brown sitament(sp?) forming at the bottom of there rad. People who have had it using straight water have had a better experience using it.

That may explain why my radiator landed up full of brown crap.

Same here...thought it might be rust..then I was worried it might be old oil deposits..nope black/brown gunk build up..the old overflow taken off was just a mess inside. I blame the water wetter for the mess for sure.

(love that little angry face) I found NO advantage in cooling with a bottle of product added to my 60/40 mix...and was less than impressed with the reminants found under the rad cap.

Now what do I do to clean it out , and what are the adverse effects if I don't?

You could flush the system..or just leave well enough alone..seems unlikely to hurt anything so I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I would flush out the system then just use a 60/40 mix. Not sure if it just stays at the bottom of the rad though. If it does float about I would image it *may* over time damage the water pump bearing.

That's funny, I just bought a bottle today and was going to put it in tomorrow when I replace my water pump. My system runs cool and steady so we'll see if there is a difference. I'm going to have to upgrade to a bigger rad anyway so if it fills it with brown muck I'll know not do use it in the new rad.
