Earlier this year, I was waxing my car and I got some on the chin spoiler. I know I can't be the only one who has done this, right?

I tried washing it off...didn't work. I put Armour All on it and it looks good for a week, but then the wax starts to show again.

Today, I had a brainstorm and tried using my Turtlewax brand bug and tar remover. It friggin worked!

I had to go over it a few times kinda hard, but it got it totally out!

well, since this problem's solved, im gonna hi-jack the thread and go sorta off topic. do any of you guys have experience w/ a cough,..pt cough..cruiser? specifically those black panels between the front and rear doors. i ask cuz this summer i was detailing my moms car, and those panels were really discolored. they had a rainbow like haze to them. no matter what i tried, nothing worked, not even meguires. any suggestions

Peanut butter.

There is a chemical in it that breaks down the wax. Apply, let it dry and then rub off with a clean cloth. Don't use the chunky.

I had wax on my chin spoiler too. My friend who also has a Mach used Eagle 1 Tire Shine on it. wala. It shined the chin spoiler right up and put a great black shine on it. Then he put some of it around the rubber water catcher that surrounds the shaker. Wow. It was instantly turned jet black and shiny new. Good stuff.

LOL, this is funny....I havnt waxed my car ONCE . Well I guess I dont have to worry about problems like that then HAHAHA. It takes too much darn time IMO and my car would be covered in tree crap in 3 days. Not worth it.

I used to detail at a shop and its as easy as taking a hard bristol tooth brush to the chin or mirror plastic and the wax comes right off no problems and no chemicals needed. Just don't use the brush on paint!!!!!

Try peanut butter. Its great. You don't have to worry about it bleaching the plastic out over time like the tire shine stuff and a lot of other products. Just dab it on and smear it around and wipe it off.

wow I use the Eagle 1 tire shine on my chin spoiler and grill delete and it makes them both look beautiful. Only problem is that after it rains and washes off the tire shine the spoiler looks like its been dried out and nasty

I spray mine with Meguiar tire shine spray (THE BEST!) when i wash my car. I wanna pick up some Back To Black since it has some faded spots though. The spray gets rid of them for a week or so.

I only used the Eagle 1 tire shine on my chin spoiler and rubber water catcher aroung the shaker just one time afew weeks ago. It still looks good. But I bought a Focus as my daily driver now, so my Mach does'nt see as much street duty anymore. Won't see any street duty after next month when it starts raining for the next 6 months.
