I posted this in Sound & Shine and didn't get a single reply. Hopefully I'll have better luck here.

I've got some weather stripping coming out of the driver's side window panel (the small rear window) and I'm worried about washing the car now. The first pic shows a small gap in the stripping between the back window, trunk, and body panel. The second pic shows the side stripping coming out from the side. I've tried pushing the side strip back in but it won't stay.

Is it going to hurt anything if water gets in there? I don't see anywhere for it to drain.
Should I replace the weather stripping before washing?

You could try taking the panel off to see if you can reposition the weather stripping better on the side window.
As for the rear window to trunk lid I think you'll be fine. Just clean that mud out of there.

Thanks for the tip. How do I get the panel off?

Maybe some of the body working guys on here can chime in.
I think you have to get the interior panel off first to access the screws holding the exterior panel in place.

I actually found a good guide for removing the C pillar cover.
