Both the passenger and drivers side have the same issue. The weatherstripping seems to be pinched by the door too tightly. I get annoying wind noise when driving on the freeway. The leak is right at the part of the door where the Mach 460 tweeter pods are; where the edge piece meets the window. You can actually see a pinch in the weatherstripping. If I play with it for a little while I can squash it back into shape but once I shut the door on it, it will leak again. If I play with it while I drive I can get it to seal but as soon as I open and shut the door, the problem comes back again.

What gets me is that its the same exact problem on both sides. Was there an issue with the weatherstripping on 03 Mustangs ?

Any ideas on why this has happened ? My old daily driver (2000, no Mach 460) did not have this issue and neather does my dad's 01 Bullitt (Mach 460). I'll post pics of the weatherstripping tomorrow.

I had the same problem with my 02. I got a piece of packing foam (not styrofoam) from a toner cartridge box at work. I rolled it up and stuffed it inside the weather stripping right where the top of the speaker is. There is no more noise, and you can't see the foam because it is inside the weather stripping.

Rusty67:

The window probably needs to be adjusted. There are guides along the bottom of the window or on the main rail. I think that 15 minutes in the body shop will have the window set up just right. The interior trim panel should be off the door before you get to the shop ("to save you some shop time"). If you have a full shop manual, there are instructions in there. The Haynes manual doesn't describe the adjustment(s).

HTH,

Chris

Would this be in a regular shop manual or the body assembly manual ?

I have the actual Ford shop manual but its the mechanical, not body manual.

Rusty67:

Sorry for the tardy reply (been swamped with non-Mustang stuff lately, lol).

My Helms manual has a section on body stuff and there are a few pages on windows and adjustments. The section is near the front (the whole manual is about 2.5" thick).

HTH,

Chris

This TSB is not related to my problem. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Thanx for the info on that tho.
