My car was in the rain all day, and i pulled it into the garage. A few hours later I tried to start it, and it would start then die, like it couldn't hold an idle. I tried 3 times, and the same thing happened.. finally started on the 4th, and its been fine ever since. Did it have something to do with the rain? The car seems fine, just had me confused. Thanks
Chris

Soooooo..... after it rains hard.... The car starts up, dies out soon after... and then what? Does it work again later? Any more light you could possibly shed would be great.

yep, sounds like the iac is starting to crap out on you. If you want to test before replacing, pull it off and spray some carb cleaner in there, shake it around, clean with a wire brush or whatever, and then put it back on and it will probably start up easier and whatnot. Of course as intermittant as iac problems are when just starting to act up, it could be hard to tell still.

The car started up and then pretty much immediately died; it wouldn't hold an idle at all. But after 3 tries in a row it started up fine and has been fine ever since. Thats why I assumed it had something to do with the rain, though I may be wrong.
