weird noise?

Ok, just about every time I start up the car and drive away I hear a single thud coming from under the car, possibly from the engine compartment. It happens about 10 seconds after I start moving. It sounds and feels like I run over something but I know I don't because it happens every time. I have never really thought of this as a problem but I just wanted to see if this happens to any one else.

Under warrenty, take it to the dealership.That type of stuff is hard to troubleshoot ovet the web.

Doesn't happen to me. Does it repeat over time or happen only once ?

it just happens once, I don't know if it really happens every time, but it happens almost every time. Also it didn't always do this. I noticed it about 6 months after I bought the stang, about 2500 miles.

It happens to me as well. It just started a few weeks ago. I don't know what it is though..

I'm almost 100% positive that it's something which is vacume operated though..

It happens to me occasionally too. It also happened on my 01. Im not sure but I think its normal, or at least not harmful.

If it's pretty loud, almost like someone smacked your floorboards with a baseball bat, then your transmission mount could be broken. $25 fix, and that's if you buy the ultra expensive polyurethane mount. Just an idea.

climate control pump cycling? maybe you notice it more at low speed vs high speed. BTW the thing cycles with your switch in every positio but "off" and "vent". Just an idea.

I think you are talking about the psh sound that happens when I have the air conditionor on. hehe I am so technical aren't I. I thikn the climate control pump thing sounds kinda like an air hose going off. I always thought that was just normal. If it was the transmission mount wouldn't it happen like every time I shift into 1st from a stop? cause this noise doesn't. But it dones sound like a baseball bat hitting floorboards.

my pump sounds like a pretty loud thump...first time i heard it i thought i had broken something. i parked the car in the driveway, opened the hood looking for anything wrong. i then started the car (heater was still on) and lo and behold, i discovered we have one loud a$$ pump that cycles when it wants to. not saying this is your problem, but it saved me a trip to the dealer (and the associated frustration). Sorry if this isn't your case.
