I have a 2002 mustang gt, I put a different rear end in it because the old one was welded and I got a good deal on it. This was about 2 weeks ago, with no noises or anything. This morning I noticed a constant noise, I guess I’d describe it as a whale noise whenever I’m turning left. If I brake, it goes away. Also noticed a noise around 40-45ish that also goes away when I brake. I’m used to driving trucks and vehicles that aren’t so close to the suspension so the sounds are different than what I know. The brakes on the driver side rear were replaced but not the passenger Side due to needing a new caliper but the pads aren’t the greatest. It just doesn’t sound like a brake issue to me. Just looking for where to start basically

Whale noise? Do you mean howling? Constant noise as in, rotational when moving?

Moaning? I’d check your axle play and see if one axle is causing the rotor to rub the caliper bracket due to excess play.

It’s more high pitched than a usual howling but no like high pitched brake noise, it’s really hard to describe but there’s no change with rotation at all

So I had to take it on a longer drive yesterday evening at highway speeds, and now everything seems to have worked itself out. I did put new brake pads on one side of the rear and waiting for a new caliper for the other side. I’m wondering if it was something with the new brake pads and if the caliper I didn’t order is bad as well and wasn’t pressed in enough or something
