Weird problem

If I let my car sit for over 5 hrs, upon restart it starts fine, then the idle drops quickly till it stalls. It also loses all the preprogrammed radio stations at that time and goes to am 600.(factory radio) When I start it back up, it's fine with the exception of a lot of popping out the exhaust pipes for 2-5 minutes. I can turn it off and wait an hour or so and have none of these problems. Only when I shut it off for a long time.

See "Surging Idle Checklist for help with all your idle/stall problems. The first two posts contain all the updates to the fixes. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.

Part of the Surging Idle Checklist tells you to dump the codes. When you do, look for code 15, no KAM voltage.

For codes, I get an 11 for key on engine off, and a 33 for continious memory. I don't have a surging idle. Just the first stall. Then on restart and unless the car sits for a long time, it is perfect. Today when I went out to start the car, it had lost radio memory and I figured it would do the same thing. I pulled codes to see what was stored which required cycling the key and it was fine. However, the first time, it wouldn't pull codes. I had to cycle the key and start over a second time.

If the EEC relay doesnt energize, you cant receive codes. That might also play into the stalling and memory loss (bad solenoid connection or some goofball anomaly that I'm not smart enough to figure out).

check your ground strap that goes from the back of the head to the fire wall and the ground wire from the injector harness to the back of the head allso , taking a look at the the battery ground wire wouldnt be a bad idea either
