Timing only advances 5 degrees when the spout is plugged in. I set it to 14 out and when Im plugged it in the idle went up but timing should have been more.....right? the engine was hot. 5.0 H/C/I
At idle, that is about right. As engine RPMs increase, the computer will increase the timing advance. Above 3500 RPM, you will probably see 32-40 degrees or more, depending on what else is happening like the EGR and intake air temp.
