weird starts

Every once in a while when I start my car it is quiter than normal like it seems like it takes a second to get idling That happens maybe like 1 in every 10 times I start the car. To me it seems like it isnt getting enough spark to start the car. The guy I bought the car off of said the plugs and wires are pretty new within the last year or so I was thinkin it might help if I get an MSD ignition box. What do you guys think?

I have something similar happen every once in a while too, but not once every 10 starts. You described it pretty well where it starts but takes about a second to idle properly.

Yea it's weird My car is pretty loud even at idle and when it starts like that the car is quiet for that second or so.

Yeah me too.. but its more like once every other month. My exhaust at idle will sound VERY quiet... which is odd considering my set-up. I dont know why it happens

this problem is usually caused by a bad anti drain back valve in the fuel pump. Quick way to check this is to either watch the FRP pid in live data or hook up a fuel pressure Gage to the car and see what the fuel pressure is when this problem occurs.

that isnt too bad at all. alot of the 99-up gt (including mine) hardly want to start at all. mine almost sounds like its gonna stall after it cranks and cranks and cranks...u get the idea. it cranks forever then finally starts up really weak though. mine does this everytime the engine is completly cold. somtimes hot. happens all the time for me.
