Welding In Flowmaster 40 Series

I don't know of any off-road H pipes that are 2.25". The 2.5" H pipes will bolt right up to your stock cat-back and stock headers though.

Wouldn't that be weird to go from stock headers to 2.5, then back to 2.25? Seems like it would hurt flow going from more restrictive, to less, back to more..... All I have now are Flows welded in...

I have heard this, but do not know of its validity:

"Delta flows, like other Flowmasters, gain volume in time, as heat and patterned exhaust flow pattern make the resonance chamber have fewer baffle interruptions."

Is this total BS or do Flows get louder with age??

I can validate that they do seem to get louder. I just got mine about a month ago and they seemed so tame that I was wondering why I dropped the $200 on getting them and having them installed. In the past week or so, my two chamber 40s seem to really be coming to life. I can't wait to get an O/R H midpipe to add to them, I believe it'll really sound mean then. But, yeah, I agree that with time, they gain volume and makes me smile more every day!

you know i think it's true. I have my 40 series flowmasters welded in, probably about 6 months ago, and they have seemed to get louder over time, although I want it louder than what it is. They don't seem to loud inside my stang but they do sound pretty good outside, but i still want louder, so i'm thinking about getting the whole American Thunder Cat back exhaust sytem and putting in a BBK H pipe and Full length headers, I just wonder if the Cat back by itself would make it louder like i want or if the H pipe and Headers would take care of that.

If I were you, I'd get the H pipe installed before going full catback. I've heard some H-piped, welded on flows on a few already and they sound like real beasts! Makes me want to hurry up and acquire that H pipe already!
