Well, yeaterday the car over heated. Had no where to turn off, was raining and didnt want to take a chance of my car gettin hit so i drove it until i had a place to pull over. My autometer gauge goes to 240 and was way past that. prolly around 270 or so:notnice: I let it cool off(put some antifreeze and water in) and drive it home. stayed around 235-240 and left it parked for the rest of the day.

Today i get in the car and go check the mail and go to my mamaws house(about 4 miles all together)felt great, got on it about half throttle and plenty power. I get home and park it and notice antifreeze on the drive way(a big puddle and seems to be coming from the back of the engine) i push the car back and cover it so no animal can drive it(how nice of me:shrug:) i get the car ramps ready and the car did not have enough power to make it up them and it will not run now:bang: :bang: I think i have a blown engine. What do u guys think? I have another engine but it neads head gaskets.

sorry so long!

you might possibly just need new head gaskets for this motor also.see if you can find out where the leak is, might have just blown a gasket. Worse case senerio cracked a head. good luck

that sux whatever it is. You prolly wish you traded for your buddies chev truck now. Time for a stroker I guess.
Well he engine messed up on him last weekend. i guess we both have chitty luck. Stroker is just a dream i have at this time. my funds are low:(

I cranked the car again. stayed running long enough for me to tell where its leaking from. right behind the passenger side head. its either a gasket or a cracked head. ill prolly start tearing down later today. i dont get to go cruzin :cries:

hows the oil look? milky, green? i would say head gasket, never seen a head crack on a car before but with that high of temps i wouldnt be surprised...just tear it down and see what u got....good excuse for some new heads :nice:

oil looked fine, just changed it last week. still can see through it. but ill have to change it again wen done. some of the coolant got in it.

i have to undo one more thing and the lower will be off. then ill pull the heads. hopefully thier not cracked or wraped. just wish me luck guys, i dont have the money for head as of now:(

well i just got both heads pulled. the one i thought had a blown gasket wasnt blown. neither was:shrug: i didnt see any cracks. who or how can tell if the head is warped??

the leak was coming from the back of the head so i know its something with the head.

After cleaning them really well, put a straight edge across the head and use feeler gauges to see how warped they are... You can have .004 and they will still seal.

Check the block for cracks as well..

Sounds like you didn't have any grease in the coolant to help lubricate the flux capacitor. Also, the reason the car didn't make it up the ramps is probably the VTEC wasn't kicking in. Make sure the VTEC is properly grounded to the positive terminal on the battery!!! :nice:

I guess you didnt hear? He upgraded to VTAK! So I think you have to ground it to the negative terminal, maybe he hasnt tried that yet:shrug:

yeah VTAK is sooooooooooo much better and it is grounded good. i also have the 110 proof jack daniels injection. :rlaugh: :rlaugh: goes i love that video

but tomorrow im going to clean the heads and get a better look. i cant do to much cause it dark and im doing it in my driveway. I'll have more info for yall tomorrow

have you checked your thermostat? if it heated up that badly, and there isint anything obvious with the gasket/heads/block, i would think it originated somewhere else possibly.

since water mixed with the oil you said, the head gasket seems to have blown. maybe the thermostat locked shut and the overheating caused the gasket to blow.

first thing that came to my mind after you said the block/heads appear fine. definately make sure you have the heads properly checked before re-installing too. dont want to get it all back together and have the same thing happen.

good luck

oil was fine. looked great. NO water in it. the heads are fine. i looked real close on the heads and u can tell that the coolant came for the passenger side of the lower intake where it meets the heads and where it over heated the caused a huge intake and coolant leak. that could explain for the lost power. what do u guys think about that. could that be it??
