Ok, I just dropped some major money for some new heads....

Now Im nervous that maybe I shouldn't have... I mean, im the process of building a stroker engine so I got lots of important parts still to buy. IE pistons, oil pan, flywheel, balancer, etc.... BUT, i cant buy the pistons till I know what sized chambered heads I have right???

I dunno, im sure the nervous feeling will wear off... but still.. anyone else get a little nervous after a big and kinda unsure purchase?

Oh, im sure I want these heads.. I didn't pull a Roland here and just buy to buy

Its just, you would think i should get the entire rotating assembly bought before the heads... but, I wanted to know FOR SURE what heads I would end up with before I bought the wrong pistons....

However, now I have to wait just a lil longer before I can start putting the short block together.. ahh oh well

Nothing extemely special... Stage 1 ported Edelbrock Performer RPMs with a little valve work.. I mean, they were cheaper than buying new.. which is kinda why i got em know.. wasnt sure If i would get the chance again.

While building my current combo I had that feeling from begining to end..the cheques were getting bigger and the parts list longer (and I kept telling him to upgrade at will). All done and said the guilt and fear of dropping SEVERAL thousand dollars on parts is very scary...hell my engine upgrade ran a HELL of alot more than what I paid for the car.

If you bought used heads, then no worrys. Sometimes you have to jump on good deals and wait a little while. Nothing wrong with that, you have to get it ALL before you get it done!

I wouldn't feel nervous about it. Buying them first isn't going to hurt a thing. Like you said, now you can match up your pistons to the heads. As long as you do that, it's not like the heads aren't going to work on the engine or something.
