Some racing classes mandate insurance to show the car is in fact a "street car". I know the NMRA Wld Street class mandates the car be registered, licensed and insured.

As long as you don't have any cord showing, or belts slipped, they should pass. Now, I wouldn't run one that way if it was really low on tread. Roll bars are now supposed to be in anything 11.49 and quicker, or 13.99 or quicker in convertibles.
Long studs on DR's? I can understand if the car is fast enough. At that point, they would also have to have after market axles.

I went to our local strip the first time with the Bird, and asked the guy where to go for Tech? He asked me if I drove it or trailered it to the track? Told him I drove it. He said I just passed Tech.

I just drop it off the trailer, sign the waiver card, drop it at the tower, and race.

Sometimes they make ATV racers wear long sleeves, though!

I got sent back for running my ac in the staging lanes one time, and dripping condensate on the ground! Different track.

At a new track, you gotta ask around before you go to tech! I have all the stuff that I know I need for NHRA Sportsman racing, based on a 12 sec and slower ET, so I can race at FFW's.

But it takes some asking, etc to get it all the way some want it.
