Well me the wife and the boy just got back from our trip to Waskesiu. We had awesome weather. It was pretty nice. I really didn't expect it to be so nice that far north in Sask. We went fishing almost everyday and pulled out some pretty big Jacks. Golfed Elkridge too but couldn't golf Lobstick. Had a great time and what a beautiful place. The only thing I didn't like was how stinking far it was. 10 hours in an SUV with a 4 month old :nonono:. Junior and senior and mom were pretty ornery by the time we got there. Any of you Sask guys Waskesiu regulars? All I did was fish, golf, and sleep. What an awesome holiday. Got back this afternoon at about 4pm, we left at 6am. I like having the few extra days at home to wind down after such a long trip. For all you Alberta, BC, and Manitoba folks Waskesiu is the Sask Banff but a little less comercialized. It's about an hour north of Prince Albert.

Glad to hear you folks made 'er home safe and sound. I'd imagine the friggen mosquitos would be pretty bad in the evenings.
I used to spend a fair bit of time in Waskesiu when I lived in Saskatoon, it's a nice little get-a-way spot.

Of all things the bugs were the deal breaker for us going back there again next year. I have never seen anything like it. No matter what you did they still attacked you like vultures. There were hundreds of them in the bathrooms. You tried to take a shower and you got a blood transfusion at the same time! There were mesquitos by the thousands. It got unbearable trying to protect our son from them. We're used to going to the Okanagan, Penticton specifically, where there are no bugs. You don't have to worry about anything. I think we'll probably head back there next year.
