Well I have just had the ****tiest weekend ever. Drove my car up to S'toon on Saturday with Chad to watch the Dyno Day festivities and then go racing at SIR on Sunday.... well needless to say the cancelled SIR on Sunday do to the nonstop downpour of rain that S'toon received on Saturday so I drove up there for no reason!! and so then we get home on Sunday have a nice birthday supper with Chad watch some TV and I head home cuz I'm tired. Well I Didn't get to sleep to long as at 2:30 a.m. I hear a funny noise outside my building sure as hell I look out my window and there are TWO guys crawling into my car!!!! I holler some bad words at them informing them that they are Mother ______ and to get the ______ away from my ________ car....... needless to say there were two of them and one of me so I wasn't to confident in chasing them down (they ran away when I started to yell)!!! I called Chad and woke him up and he came over..... In the meantime I grabbed my 2x4 that I use as a doorstop and went and checked out my car!!! They had broken my drivers side quarter window and had gotten in but that is all they got. I figure they were going after my slicks that I had left in the back as both of my seats were flipped forward and that was the only thing in my car!!!!!! So now I have a nice duct tapped window and broken side molding!!!! Anyone else have as great a weekend as me???? Ohh and if anyone has a rear quarter window for a 94 - 98 mustang that would like to sell it and the window molding underneath it that would be great!!!

What #'s did he get on the dyno with his SRT?
Ya, I didn't mean you should have actually chased them, I was just having a little rant.
I just ran out to take a look at my window, I'm not sure what kinda job it would be to change it, maybe someone will chime in.

Unfortunately there was a bit of an issue with his car on the dyno and it wouldn't read any higher then 5000 rpm so he only got a hp reading to there.... somthing about the inductive pickup wouldn't let it read any higher and he would have had to take off a bunch of covers from the engine so that they could put a piece of reflective tape on the harmonic balance or somthing (happened to a number of cars that day).... i don't know that is what he was told was the problem anyhow! He was a bit dissappointed as his car makes the most power above that but he still put out 245hp/280 ft/lbs........ So if he could have gone higher with it he feels he would have gotten about 260 to 270 out of it! not bad for a little four cylinder!

The Quarter window is glued in with special urethane for auto glass it should be installed by a glass shop or accredited tech because it is part of the cars structural integrity (besides that suff is real messy )
and you need a cool little cutting tool to get the old stuff out

Ohh i can get all the tools needed (not like there is much left to get out) i was just wondering if it was more work then i cared to do. I have found out that it isn't so I'm gonna takel it. If it becomes to big then i will take it somewhere! I have found a window for 50 bucks and it should be here tomorrow or Wednesday!!! I'll let you guys know how it goes! The cheapest place i found local was 275 dollars plus tax and install....... 50 dollars and a bit of work sounds like a better deal to me!

There is an autobody supply place on the corner of McIntyre and 7th that sells the 1/4 window adhesive.Just tell them what it is for and they will give you the right stuff. The tubes have a shelf life and start to harden in the tube when they get too old so it is best to get it from a place that has a good turnover of stock.

Ummm...I highly doubt that it reinforces the frame...glass is not know for its structural integrity...but I have been wrong before...

P.S. Yeah the rain sucked, I was going to SIR too, but a dead battery (left the lights on) and an insane amount of rain prevented it (like rain of biblical proportions..., well maybe for SK)

As a whole all the glass together actually does strengthen the roof sounds hokey but Its what they say in the ICAR books, one tip is when you get all the old adhesive off the window opening wipe it down with laquer thinner or something similar and also clen the glas with the laquer thinner as well where the glue goes and the adhesive will have a better chance at sticking also wear rubber gloves that stuff does not come off easily

Well my baby is all back together! Chad, Jason and I put it together last night. Took us about 1 hour and 40 minutes but Jason new what he was doing as he is a Ford mechanic. It was more difficult then i had thought! Not only do you have to take off the interior panel but you have to take off the two exterior panels above the door and window!!! However it is all done and my baby looks as good as ever and now i can say i have cobra pieces on my car as it is a cobra window

I might suggest getting a glass policy on your next insurance.

I had a rock go though the windshield on in my 05 on the weekend which was luckily covered. I talked to the people at the glass shop and for fun we looked at some prices. The wholesale on side quarter windows in 300 and some dollars, and the rear window is a whopping 3600 dollars. Who knew glass was so expensive.

Ya i'm thinking about doing that and when I phoned Speedy Auto Glass for a new window it was 450 plus tax and installation... this was 60 dollars shipped plus 8 dollars for the glass urethane!!! I'm just happy its back together even if I don't ever sleep again as I'm convinced that every little noise is them coming back to break into it again
