What about 17x9s?

Dodgestang's chart only runs up to 17x8 before skipping up to 18s... does this mean that my '66 coupe would have problems fitting 17x9 rims all around without heavy mods? I'm considering this route because I certainly like wider tires on a car like this, but beyond that the mustang partshopper has a pretty good deal on 17x9 chrome bullitts, the set for $820 ( http://www.partshopper.com/fordmustang/customkititems.asp?kc=WR-BULLITT )... are these priced so cheap because they're cheaply made? Anyone have experiences with this vendor?

Also, they have +24mm listed as backspacing on these wheels. This converts to just under an inch... which cant be the overall backspacing can it? I'm going to need 4.75 - 5" backspacing on wheels of this size, I'm pretty sure. Is this right?

You WILL NOT get 17x9's on a 65/66 without MAJOR work.
8's are the practical limit.

I have 17x9.5s on the rear of my car with zero work.

Now putting that on the front, ya right. LOL

I have 17x9 with a 5 inch BS on the rear of my 65 as well. Mine has flares but they will tuck with the right tire....

The +24 is the offset from the center of the wheel, not the backspacing.
They measure the same thing from a different point of origin.

i dunno if rollin the inner fender would work enough i hope you dont mind a dirty car tho cause its gonna be throwin stuff all over the sides like me! lol and i got 7 inchers
