What are these holes for in my back seat?

Removed all of the rear interior to trace a leak (as mentioned in the other thread). There is one of these holes on each side and one side is missing the adhesive panel. Just curious what purpose these serve. Probably just going to duct tape them shut before I put the panels back. The driver side one doesn't really stick well anyway.

In the first picture, for orientation, you are looking at the passenger wheel well and front seatbelt retractor. One with the panel covering it is the driver's side.

When I pulled the interior out of mine I was curious about the same thing but then I thought that the bodies of the coupe and vert are the same and that is where the vert's rear speakers are located. That's what the holes are for in that spot.

No sh1t, didn't think of that. I did notice on both sides though that when the rear 1/4 windows are sprayed, water leaks down in there and then drains out the bottom. If it's doing it on both sides I assume that's a normal draining procedure?

I found the other leak was related to my rear window being replaced a couple years ago. Taking it back to them tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure thats standard operating procedure. Cars arn't meant to be 100% water tight with all the body gaps they have you just need to keep the openings open so the water can drain. If not that is how you will get a good rust hole pretty quick.

Yeah it's hard to see down in there but I didn't really see any rust so I guess it's draining out somewhere underneath.

I did notice some rust inside by my 1/4 window so apparently this damn back window has been leaking for a while. Back window was replaced in 2009 but they have a lifetime warranty on parts and installation, fortunately.

Yeah they fit fine. I haven't noticed any rubbing issues yet.

I thought about that but forgot to check before I duct taped it shut and put the panels back. Car is back to normal form now so oh well.

It was the 1/4 window leaking.
