Drivetrain What Are These?

These fell out of the rear end when I was replacing my pinion seal on my 8.8 mustang rear end. Don't know where they came from.

I've never seen anything like that in a Ford 8.8". What are they made out of?

Look like possibly aluminum

They were just sitting loose in the differential.

Not aluminum. They are magnetic.

I've googled every place I know to and have not had any luck identifying them. Guess I'll just leave the out.

Look a little bit like magnets in an auto trans pan.(?)

Not sure why they would be in the rear axle though.
