I was wondering what occurs when a torque converter is going out?

when you are in gear, and you accelerate, the car starts to move, but as you get higher in the rpm's, the engine will just rev like it's in neutral. Higher loads will also make it worse.

My convertor would "let loose" and easily redline at > 3000RPM while the car went practically nowhere. Made a not so great noise as well.

I had one that went out on a pick up and if I accelerated to fast is would rev up and I would have to let off the gas and ease into it and it would catch.......
