What clutches you guys running

Mcleod dual friction disk, pro motion blueprinted/modified ford motorsport HD pressure plate (modified to handle over 450hp and high rpm's) and I use a fidanza SFI aluminum flywheel.

How much do these combo's run you guys? I've GOT to replace my stock clutch since it's clearly going downhill and isn't catching very well. Hopefully it gets through the winter but we'll see.

I want to get something that can handle the power I WILL be putting into the car, aka so I don't have to buy another clutch once I do the mods - what do you suggest? I also want one thats not going to bust in the first 6 months.

I would not suggest a Ford Motorsport HD unit at all. No offense to those who have it, but I had one and it blew the crap out of my tranny after a while because of the abrupt engagement. I would recommend a King Cobra with a McCleod disk, its good up to 500 HP.

I'm planning on using a Spec stage 2, possibly with the stage 3 pressure plate. I have heard good things about this setup. I'm like you in that I don't think my stock clutch will last long after h/c/i

How about 3 King Cobra clutches in 2.5 years or 20k miles :notnice:

Autozone clutch...want to use a weaker clutch until my T-5 goes (hope the clutch is the weakest link there).

When the t-5 goes I will use either a spec stage II or a centerforce. BOth of the 2 should be stronger than the stock t-5, making the t-5 the weak link...blowing it before the clutch.

buddy of mine tore threw 2 king cobra clutches, one just shatterd' and parts were sticking out of the vents in the bell. Got a centerforce and his trans started going south from the added force the clutch would take over the king cobra...we think he ended up bending a main shaft in his.
