Not sure what you are asking. Do you mean what mods can you do and what should you do first?

What he is asking is this, he has an 86 Mustang GT. A friend told him on that year 5.0 you cannot do a cam or swap the heads due to it having flat top pistons and there being no clearance.

True or false?

I can't say it'll work for you, but,I installed an E303 cam, ported E-7 heads,Explorer intake,Mass Air conversion, and it runs very strong, and pulls hard.Especially after I installed the 5 speed.I haven't had any issues (my car has the flat tops as well).

I have a set of 91 stock pistons you can have for cheap they are still on the rods.
Probably less than $50 shipped, shipping cost more than what I want for the pistons.

it is completely true that the 86 pistons are flat and not notched. It is also completely true that more often than not e7 heads won't fit, or gt40's.

it's not even worth the hassle of trying. I've had two seperate friends run into piston to valve cleaance on these engines attempting a head swap.

twisted wedge heads will fit fine with no mods.

Or swap out the entire longblock..it's easier than a head swap anyhow..

or get a lot of nitrous, they ARE forged pistons...
