as a novice mechanic, i was changing wires (FR Blue) and while i was removing the back plug at the passenger side of the engine, i put too much pressure on a metal pc and it broke in half (its attached to a hose). i tried to fix it by putting automotive duct tape around it but it sounds like i broke a header (sounds loud). what is this hose and can i drive the car for a week until fixed?? will the automotive duct tape burn since its near the headers?? thanks!!!!

are these spark plug wires you were changing? not to flame you or anything, but how did you brake something (metal) changing spark plug wires? you should be able to just pull them off with your hand...

What car/motor are we talking about?
Your sig. has mach1 in it, should we assume you are talking about a mach1?
yes, headers will burn duct tape.
headers do not have hoses attached to them (headers will also burn hoses).
more info needed.

well its a 88 GT 5.0 (had a 69 Mach1), just bought the car w/140k on her and still had orig plug wires, these wires were damn tough to come off (im not a puss) while i was trying to get the back plug wire off i smashed against a metal end pc attached to a hose (EGR??) and i used silver automotive duct tape designed for cars to mend the pcs together but it still sounds loud. any ideas? thanks!

Yep, if it's an 88 on the passenger side, it sounds like the thermactor tube running from the air pump to the H pipe.
You may be able to get by with duct tape untill you replace it.
