How much were you charged to put a set of shawty(couldnt resist) headers on? The shop i go too quoted me $485.00. They said they were worried that they may break a bolt. Do you think this is a fair price?or can a better price be found....

Mine were just installed last month. Went with MAC shorty's.
Part was $170.00
Labor by book calls for 2.9hrs. We charge $88.69 an hour. Since I work here I only pay $48.00 an hour. So I payed $139.20
So $280.00 is about wright for someone walking in off the street.. If they go by the book. Does your price include the part.??
If a bolt does break, then yes more labor will be involved.
Note to you, on the driver side we had to crimp one header some to allow it to clear the steering shaft.
Now I was told to install exhaust tape around my clutch cable, I dont see why the header is very far away from it.
Hope this helps.

Come down here, I'll do them for $40, you pay for the FEL-1415 gaskets

Those places are way to steep, even from a dealership. $485 dollars is absolutely rediculous!

I've seen worse though...

And if your last name is Foster that's pretty tight, mine too haha. Where exactly you at? I have all the air tools and everything.

I just put some on my car a couple months ago.

Anyone with a basic set of sockets, a jack and a pair of jack stands should be able to install a set of shorty headers in less than three hours. I could probably do it in less than 90 minutes.
