when i bought it.. there was a hesitation/misfire in cyl 4(which is why the guy sold it for so cheap).. 8 plugs and a cop later.. the car pulls clean and hard all the way to red line with no problems.

That doesn't make sense, If the car is modded and the guy sold it with a problem for cheaper without diagnosing it, something seems fishy

I think he said the first owner modded it, then he sold it to a dealer, then the last owner bought it from them, then JPstealth bought it from that guy... It's in his first post, heh.

Hope you figure out the problems on it. It'd be awesome if you were able to contact the owner to see why exactly (if it happened) that some of the internals were replaced.

I'm curious as to what the car will run once it warms up for you Northern guys

If you really want to see if your car has forged internals you can remove the oil pan. But other than what everyone else said, you have a C&l mass air meter, as well as the intake (you might as well get a new filter and a plastic heat shield. You might have a bigger throttle body or pulleys.

The Reichard intake manifold you have is not a great manifold for an N/A GT because there is hp and torque loss up until the higher rpm.

wells heres what happened... the guy i bought it from, was 18 when he bought the car 2 years ago using a loan, so he had to put full insurance on the car which was like 7 grand (new jersey sux) so he had it on the road for 2 months.. he bought it with the check engine light, he sent it back to the dealer to get it fixed which they did. later on down the road it came back on it again. since it had the insurance taken off it he just let it sit. it was burning a whole in his pocket for the last 2 years as it was just sitting in his driveway as he was paying the loan off. he just wanted to get rid of it.. just a stupid kid who got in way over his head. the Carfax corresponds with this story.

once i get the money for a tuner ill throw it up on a dyno and see what it puts down

I'm going to guess that your idling problem is your C&L MAF.

See if you can swap someone's OEM on there; my brother messed with his IAC for days, swapped over my MAF, smooth idle suddenly.

Nice find, especially if the engine is forged.

Congrats on your new ride. I would DEFINATELY Seafoam the hell outta it and see if that cures the crappy idle if the new wires you got didn't do the trick. Might be worth it to foam it anyways just to clean things out a bit.

I've got a c&l on my car with a tune and it runs just fine. If you need a stock gt maf I have two for sale. I would check the air idle control first b/f buying anything.
