what springs are you getting ? My Eibach pro kit just needed the spring install, and thats it, however 3 years later I still need / want to get CC plates anyway. Lots of people say they're not needed, and I've made it this long w/o them, but my car will drive straighter, and wear less on my front tires w/ them on. Right now my car will align w/in factoy spec, but thats not perfect alignment -

A good set of Re-Valved shocks and energy suspension bushings would be a good idea also.

I am a computer geek and I put my Steeda Sports (bout a 1.25" drop) in by myself with out shocks or anything else. Everything is fine almost a year later.

The install is easy, but it takes a while and you could use a friend's help, as two heads are better than one.

Go for it.

C springs are not progressive, so the ride may be a bit harsh. Combine that with the factory shocks and struts and I don't belive this would be the ride for me. But to each his own. I'm still not sure what springs to get myself, but I've found the shock/strut combo I want - Tokico Illumina 5 way adjustables. Generally, CC plates are necessary if you drop more than 1.5" OR your alignment shop cannot get it properly aligned.

i just want to get that body roll out my car when i turn the ride is already rough to me but I want it to feel tighter when I make turns and stuff and not be so damn bouncey. And of course I love the look.

I THINK that, when you lower the car, it will get a whole lot more "bouncey".

Depends on what you mean by that, tho.

Just today my woman was commenting on the jarring ride quality of my car, but what does she know, she drives a Lexus.

We have bad quality roads around here. Lots of potholes and stuff.

Eibach Sportlines $180
MM CC plates $200
shorter sway bar links $6
Tokico 5-way Illuminas $600

2 inch drop rocks...no more body roll, no nose dive or sqwatting.

VERY nice 4.6_02_Black_GT!!!
You've just help me make the decision of exactly what to buy. I had already decided on the Illuminas and now seeing your pics, the rest of my decision making is done. One quick question, the CC plates seem high - any interference problems with the hood?
Anybody who wants to see a nice drop done right needs to take a look at 4.6_02_Black_GT's link above...beautiful!

TwoGts,

There is actually a small recess in our stock hoods. I set the install height with the spacers to the same height as the stock strut. You actually have about 3/4 to 1 inch in clearnace more than I used.

I checked mine with play-dough to make sure I didnt get too close to the hood. I settled for the stock height.

thanks

When you do the front springs, is there any alternative to removing the top nut on the struts other than an impact wrench?

I have Eibach's ProKit w/ UPR c/c plates. My plates were quite a bit less, but I have the 3-bolt, didn't really see a need for the 4. However, the ProKit is a lil more expensive, yet still it dropped mine atleast 1.5 pushin 1.75. BUT I know a guy with a 99 cobra who just put the ProKit on his car and didn't need c/c plates right now. My tow was really bad turned out though. EVery car is different.

If you really want to eliminate a lot of body roll after you lower your car get some Full-Length subframe connectors. I did the Eibach Pro-Kit first and still have the stock shocks and struts, there was still quite a bit. After having the SFC's installed it made a huge difference with body roll and increased stiffness and not harshness. <--- if your getting me there. Just my .02

Blu if you wana get rid of that nasty body roll, get yourself an Eibach Prokit (1.5" drop) some mach 1 tociko shocks/struts and a set off CC plates.

I have all this and LOVE IT! Car handles like something different from a stang!

You can stick a screw driver or something in the notch on top and then use a box end wrench to remove the nut.

As far as springs go. I have a set of FRPP-C springs on my car and I love them. They have a 650lb linear rate in the front and a 200-300lb variable in the rear.

You dont really need anything else, bisides the springs. I did my srpings last summer and thats it. No C/C plates, shocks or alignment. Car drives great. Dont get me wrong though, all that other stuff will just inhance your ride in the curves.

Just remove the three bolts that hold the stock upper strut mount. The alum. rivits will hold the upper plate in place as the whole assy drops down to get the springs in.
