what are the pro's and con's of this car. i have a chance to buy one pretty cheap. what is the hp and what do they run in the 1/4

They are nice cars, though your car currently would be able to win against a stock 98 cobra.

Completely bone stock I pulled a 8.8 @ 81mph in mine spinning halfway through second. Thats roughly a 13.72 in the 1/4. I was still in second gear when I crossed the line too. It dynoed 261/260 to the wheels.

with a great driver they are mid 13 cars stock, some of the guys on svtperf.com have this stated

Yeah, but throw some 4.10s, a decent exhaust upgrade with a good tune and she should put up low 13's-high 12's N/A! You won't get that out of a stock GT (Including the '03's) Plus the fact that it's an SVT Cobra which will surely hold its' resale value more than the GTs ever will.

magazine racing times and an 03 cobra can only run 13.4

my best time was a 13.23 @104 with a 1.6 x 60' in Fontana Ca.
4:33 gears, under Drive pullys MSD Dis4 two step rev limiter and a tune
the car also had about 80,000 mile on it and I luanched it at 6,500 rpm's
and shift at 6850rpms.

8.8 with a set of 31 spline Tom's Kick Ass Axels and a Eaton Posi.

My 97 Cobra ran 13.9@102MPH with a 2.2 60ft time, BBK L/T's and 3.73 gears. Not bad, but I was spinning really bad.
