What does GT stand for?

As you can tell by the subject I am curious as to what GT stands for? Not only the mustang but a lot of other car manufactures put the title GT on their cars. Has me wondering.

Grand Teriffic, I think it means Grand Torismo, well GTO means Grand Turismo Omologato.

i believe it mean Gas-n-Tires LOL no it means Grand Toreing.

GRAND TOURING is the correct spelling but above was right.

Since Ferrari was the first to use the designation in the 1950's, the most correct answer is "Gran Turismo", which is Italian for Grand Touring. This loosely translates to "sporty-driving".

Yeah, GT in terms of tha Mustang originally meant "Grand Touring" but these days GT pretty much just means AWESOME, lol It's also an abbev. for Grand Turismo, but I believe that is mostly in import cars. Like I know that's what it means for a Skyline GT-R V-specII.

with a ? its more like a bumper sticker. Rather it should be GT = Got Torque [Biznitch] or something similar ;P

GT is pretty much " The next step up" V6>GT>Cobra . Grand Prix>Grand AM GT> GTO...exc exc
