i got a 5 speed and its stock, so what type of gears should i put on it if i was gonna get new ones? how much hp would it add?, and how much would it cost?

I went 3.73, if you dont drive daily you could go 4.10, and if you spend a lot of time on the freeway the 3.55 is a little more conservative. They will not add any horsepower, but they will get you up to speed much faster. You will for sure feel the difference, your factory ratio is 2.73. Switching gears would be the first mod I make to any stang, and I'll bet a lot of stang'ers agree. Installed should be around $500-$600 from a reputable shop. I have a mac prochamber and magnaflow catback on mine. I love the sound but since I have to go emissions legal I picked up a catted magnaflow x-pipe. Should still sound awesome and I'll be legal.

i like the sound of flowmasters 2 chambered 40 series in combo with an h-pipe. deep, muscular sound . gotta love it . just my vote

I didn't read all the comments above but I run BBK ceramic coated equal length short tubes with Pypes catted X-pipe and Pypes Violator catback.

Not too loud at cruising speed but get on the gas just a little and it comes alive and sounds great

I've had friends and total strangers come up to me and compliment the sound of my Mustang's exhaust note

The only track proven results I make a claim to is when I did the catted X-pipe. I was 2 tenths quicker down the 1/4mile repeatedly after that mod alone

The headers I purchased off ebay. Otherwise they can be a bit pricey. But, the Pypes stuff is reasonable brand new and the fit is very good. I bought the Pypes stuff through: Home for your Ford Mustang @ Blue Oval Industries.
Some people have had issues with them but I have no complaints.

i havent even done the 1/4 mile in my stang yet cause its fairly new and pretty much all stock. but yeah i plan on puttin an off road x pipe on it, im just not sure what brand yet. any advice on cheap things i can do to it to make it faster and increase the hp besides an off road x pipe?...

Underdrive pullies are around $100 a free up a few hp. Either a CAI or a K&N filter might give you a couple more ponies for less than $100... Then exhaust is your next cheapest route as far as I know.

My 95 came with a Bassani catless x pipe and Flowmaster 40's, same setup I had on my 03. I like it alot, it's pretty loud and has a nice rumble at low rpm and sounds good higher up too. But for some reason I don't think it's quite as loud as my 4.6 was, for whatever reason?

long tubes, dr gas o/r x pipe and bassanis. the dr gas x pipe is what makes it sound like that.

MAC shorty headers, off road h-pipe, magnaflow magnapack mufflers......


can't say i'm a fan of my setup, they sound like glasspacks.....looking to switch out with borla xr-1s.....or something else.
