Need different gears.for an 89 notch that was set up for 1/4 mile with NO2.
302, 12.5:1 compression,with heavy ported windsor senior heads and ported victor jr with 750 holley,C4 with 3200 stall.All I know about the cam is that it is a custom nitros grind. The guy that had the motor built was spraying 150-200 shot. I'm running N/A for right now but plan on installing 150 shot as soon as I get the tune right for the 1/8th. With those heads and intake,running N/A this car is a dog under 4500rpm,once you get it wound up it will pull right to 7000, but my 60 ft is WAY SLOW 1.78 -1.86. with the 1/8 going by at 7.10 - 7.20 at 92 - 93 mph. I dont have a problem hooking at all with 26 x10.5 ET drags. The car has 4:10s with a spool right now, and in the 1/8 th I'm shifting at 6800, but having to shift into 3rd right before the traps. I know if I keep it N/A, I'm going to have to change to a much looser converter, but if I spray it the bottom end torque should come way up, and be Ok and improve the 60'. What gears do I need to get me through the traps at 5500 - 6000 rpm? I ran a best 6.93 at night in cool air, two weeks ago and this thing should be a beast on spray!
