What have you guys paid to have an engine rebuilt?

Look at IndianaCore on Ebay or look under gt40p on ebay... I got a longblock from a 98 Explorer for $349 or $429 shipped to my door...I sold the GT40p heads and the intake (lower only) and recouped my money...My machinest told me I could have reringed and added bearings and run the motor as is... But I wanted to add forged pistons so I spent the money to have the machine work...I also wanted an engine that I could take my time and build..I wanted to keep my car on the road and after it was built would only take a weekend to replace...

I pulled a 5.0 apart that had 108K on it and everything checked right on. Every surface was in tolerance and the cylinders still had crosshatching in then. It cost me $300 for new rings, bearings, seals, gaskets. I did all the labor and cleaning myself, so it only cost my $300 for the entire rebuild. Check all your tolerances you may not need to pay for machine work or pistons.
