What high heat paint do I need?

I want to paint my block as well as cast iron heads to preven them from rusting...what high heat paint would I need? can I use header paint? or do I need something else...?

The block and heads don't get anywhere near as hot as headers. (You better hope they dont!)

If you go to a parts store, they should have block paint. They will always have chevy orange and ford blue. That stuff works fine, it's just tough to install a freshly painted engine without scratching some of it off.

I think the block paint is a lot cheaper than the good header paint, and you can get the ford blue really easily, so that is what I would do.

POR-15 is the best stuff around. I ordered some last week so I can paint my block and heads. This stuff is amazing! I have heard several positive praises on how good this stuff actually is. I can't wait to paint mine. Here is a link to the 3 stage kit. Not a bad price either.

I used engine paint on mine, regular black, and I think it looks okay. Also didnt scratch a single thing dropping it in!
