That accel setup looks sweet, plus its very affordable!! Ive had nothing but good luck from accel products, I like the fact that you can dial in the rev limiter, Im also interested if anyone has this setup

the MSD Digital 6 has the "two-step" system which allows you to set a rev limiter so if you do miss a shift- you dont fry up everything under your hood. I have yet to hook it up, mainly becuase I dont have a motor yet :/

I have the Accel 300+. I just installed it but haven't messed with it yet. On of the reason I bought it was because of the price and you can also get this handheld programmer that goes with it and does a bunch of stuff. I look into as I can't remember all of its capabilities off the top of my head.

I also posted a few times asking about everyone's opinion on it and never received any replies.

I like my 300+ a lot, you set the rev limiter with dip switches that are on the box. And like beezy said, there's things that you can buy to add to it. If you want to get the msd with rev limiter it's already like 40 bucks more than the 300+, then you have to buy the ford adapter on top of that, plus the box is bigger, but if you have a red car it looks pretty ha ha, really it comes down to brand choice and how much money you're willing to spend.....there's always Jacobs too!

Most of my boosted friends run the MSD with BTM.

for boosted apps, then yes the BTm is the way to go. Mallory also makes a box that would work with boost as well.

are you saying the Accel system does everything the msd 6al does for a cheaper price?

The Accel 300 also draws 1/3 of the amps MSD does.

You can read a little about it here. It outperformed comparable models according to CarCraft.

http://go.mrgasket.com/pdf/digital_ignsys.pdf

The add on unit is the Accel 375+ and from what I can tell turns your 300+ into a 500+.

I am running a 300+ on my stang and a 6A on my truck. I have no compaints with the Accel, except that my stock tach quit working shortly after hooking it up, it now just jumps around a lot. I would get the Accel instead of the 6A based just on price, but if you are planning on getting the 375+ in the future, just get the Digital6 to start with, it is a very sweet unit.
